Musical garden notes

Of course when you think of music in a garden, fountains or a gentle stream come to mind. Or maybe the birds singing. Love it all. But this article is about a little slice of whimsy we added, that is more visual than audible. Music notes, in flower form!

This is a musical notes clerodendrum. It is a real beauty. This is how it looks right as the buds start to open.

It blooms on and off all year. It is easy to grow in my area, and it is really not picky. A mid size shrub, it has a pretty shape, and just performs.

Look at the newly forming buds up close. Wowzers. So pretty.

Here’s how it looks when in full bloom. Notice how the flowers fall over on each other and there are long stamens.

This plant is one of the first we put in our moon garden. We are just starting to work on that garden now. So it is a real work in progress. We will keep you updated on how it goes. While I try and figure out what to plant next I am really enjoying watching this plant. A true bit of whimsy I just cannot get enough of right now!
